Today was artsy-craftsy day. John and I went to Hobby Lobby yesterday and picked up a few fun projects. I'm making surprises for all my knitting girls. I haven't been able to start them yet because I needed a special tool. So I got that, and I got some of this. Here is the before... And here is the after! If you've never done this, or if it's been more than 15 years since you've done it, get your butt to your local craft store and start shrinking! Trust me. You will thank me.

Gosh, you bring back fond memories of Brownie Camp fun, when I was an Owl, and my DD was one of the Brownies. Shrinkies were *big* fun as part of each camp craft session. We punched holes in them before we baked 'em, so that a safety pin cd be run through and the finished shrinky pinned to a camp hat. :-) (Just call me Elf Owl.)

OH MY GOD. I didn't even know they made that stuff anymore! I remember doing that when I was a little kid. I think I made xmas ornaments from it. And I vaguely remember mom getting a pair of poinsetta earrings made from it. (That she couldn't wear because it was too pointy!)
Thanks for the memories! :D

Woo hoo, shrinky dinks! Hugely, immensely fun. I got some at office max that you can run through your printer. Fun... but not as fun as coloring them.

Oh! My son has a shrinky dink machine that he never uses. Why didn't I think of it sooner? Cool monkeys. :)

Shrinky Dinks are still as much fun now as 30 years ago when the company sold its first sheet of Shrinky Dinks shrinkable plastic. You can't get more enjoyment for the money and a little piece of plastic that you can carry with you until your grandchildren give you one they have made. Wonderful, wonderful product.
