Happy Belated Birthday!

Birthday Monkeys!

It was one year ago -- give or take a few days -- that MonkeyKnits got its start. The first post said:

"We don't have class today so I got to sleep in this morning. Now I am at work in the computer lab. There is no one in here. Just me. I brought a WIP but I'm having fun surfing knitting blogs and I thought, 'Hmm... Why don't I have one of those? I am a knitter and I like my computer.' So, here it is. The premiere edition of Monkey Knits."

Wasn't I cute? I read a few of the archived posts. They're kinda silly. If you're interested, here's a link to the old site. Blogger must keep those suckers up forever! The links to the archives are on the left. Have fun!

And don't forget to have a piece of birthday cake before you go!

Dude, check it out

Through this site (the Search for Clarence), I found Emotion Eric. Too funny. Some people are either really creative or they just have too much time on their hands!

Glad you could make it!

If you're here, that either means you've already updated your links, you've surfed in through the Knit Bloggers' Ring or you were redirected through my old Blogger site. In any case, I'm so glad you've found me. Please update your old bookmarks and any links you have on your page. Or if you don't already have a link to MonkeyKnits, feel free to make one now! I will be debuting a brand spankin' new button in the next few days, so come back and pick it up. My hopes are that now that I have a reliable server and a very nice user interface, I will be motivated to post more often... Hey! A girl can dream, right?

TypePad, MT and Blogger... OH MY!

So many changes this week to my little blog. John finally set up Moveable Type on monkeyknits.com and, in the same week, TypePad launched its preview edition. I am absolutely loving TP. It's so much more customizable than Blogger and much more user-friendly. No more, "Blogger ate my post" posts. There are still things that I need to get ironed out. For example, TP doesn't have domain mapping available yet. Ideally, I will figure out MT and then I won't have to pay a monthly fee...But for now, this is bee-yoo-ti-ful! I recommend TP to anyone currently using Blogger. You won't be disappointed!
